Weekend Reading – June 19, 2011

I’m posting my weekend reading a little late due to my vacation. I haven’t had an internet connection for the past few days and I just landed back in Florida a couple hours ago. It was great to see the family and it was also great to have the vacation paid for.

Here are some excellent articles from fellow dividend growth investors, frugalists and personal finance bloggers from the past week.

Dividend Income – June 2011
The Passive Income Earner reveals his dividend income from June, 2011. Great numbers as always, and he’s giving me a target to shoot for.

10 Dividend Growth Stocks With A Single Digit P/E
D4L lists 10 dividend growth stocks with a low valuation. Could the market be punishing these stocks for good reason? This is a great list to do some homework and possibly pick up some values.

Wal-Mart (WMT) Dividend Stock Analysis
Dividend Growth Investor analyzes Wal-Mart, a company I recently analyzed as well. He appears to be fairly bullish on the future of this retail juggernaut, as am I. I recently doubled my position and feel it’s a bargain.

I get free gas, do you?
My Own Advisor reveals how he redeems air miles for gas. I have a credit card that has 1% cash back that I will use for purchases once the balance is high enough. Always nice to receive free stuff!

British American Tobacco BTI Dividend Stock Analysis
The Dividend Guy analyzes this company, which I’m not very familiar with. I have positions with Altria and Philip Morris, which I like to add to when I can, but I will look into this company a little further. I am bullish on tobacco stocks, overall.

6 Premium Dividend Payers to Buy on Dips or Drops
Dividend Monk highlights 6 stocks to buy on dips or drops. A solid list here, and a number of these companies are solid buys at just slightly lower prices, and fantastic pickups on major drops.

Susan P. Brunner Interview – Part 1
The Dividend Ninja published a 2-part interview with Susan P. Brunner, a fellow blogger who is actually doing what many of us are aspiring to do-live off dividends. The second part of the interview can be found here. This is a fascinating and well done interview, and it is really refreshing to hear from someone who is “walking the walk”. Check it out.

Thanks for reading.

Mantra, thanx for the mention :) I have to say interviewing Susan was one of my favourites. With 40 years investing expereince, there is a lot of wisdom and solid advice in what she says, and she knows from experience!
